Frame by Frame
Frame by Frame is a London-based film photography project that captures the beauty and randomness of daily life through raw and unfiltered moments.
Most of time, life is made of purely random stuff. I woke up on Monday to find that I got cold, which stopped me from biking to school too early, which made me take the tube, which made me realize how many shitty things could happen if I didn’t catch the cold. I don’t love the randomness in my life, so even for the pictures I’ve taken in this project, I often go out prepared rather than unexpected. However, there are many instances in this project where I think the randomness is the beauty of the picture.
That said, I am not a trained photographer, I am not trained to have an aethetic eye, I am not trained to have a perfect sense of composition, I am not trained to have a perfect sense of color, I am not trained to have a perfect sense of light. I started this project with the passion of capturing something out of my ordinary life. Not for recording, not for documenting.
This project started from a 5-pound film camera I purchased at Durham. It doesn’t have the fancy features of a DSLR, but it just simply works. I don’t have to worry about the battery, I don’t have to worry about the memory card, I don’t have to worry about the lens.
I hope it captures something, so that when I come back years later, I remember not by memory, but by the pictures.
Of course, I also hope that you finding something interesting, inspiring or beautiful in these pictures too [1]
Shall we meet?
Are you coming?
